DuPage County Seeks Public Input on Trail System

The DuPage County Division of Transportation (DuDOT) is seeking input from members of the public as DuDOT staff develop a detailed plan for the County’s regional trail network. Those who use the County’s trails, including the Illinois Prairie Path, the Great Western Trail, and the Southern DuPage Regional Trail, are asked to share their opinions via a survey at

As the DuPage Trails Plan is developed, it will focus on path maintenance and allowable improvements. The Plan’s goal is to make trails safer, more accessible, and easier to navigate. The public’s input will be used to guide staff as they seek improve the user experience along the trails through wayfinding and creative uses of undeveloped trail property. The Plan will utilize engineering best practices and provide recommendations for environmentally friendly trail enhancements and provide clear guidelines for trail management.

“Our DuPage County trail users are some of the most engaged and passionate supporters of our transportation system,” said DuPage County Transportation Committee Chairman Don Puchalski. “This survey is the first time that the information has been collected in a countywide manner, so community input is vital. I ask everyone to visit the project website to provide feedback.”

Community input is also being sought via signs with QR codes posted along DuPage County regional trails. To stay informed and engaged around the process, sign up for email updates on
