DuPage Care Center Hosting Valentine’s Balloon Fundraiser to Benefit Residents

The DuPage Care Center is offering the community an opportunity to send Valentine wishes to Center residents.

The DuPage Care Center is also providing Valentine’s balloons to residents to spread cheer and warm wishes. For a $4 donation, community members can send a balloon to a Care Center resident. In the past, the public sent more than 800 heart-shaped, helium balloons to line the Care Center’s corridors and rooms on Valentine’s Day. Volunteers and staff delivered the balloons to more than 300 residents living at the Center, brightening their days, and bringing lots of smiles along the way.

“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been additional stresses brought onto the residents of the Care Center. Every year, this balloon sale brings numerous smiles to residents’ faces and helps to warm their hearts and lift their spirits. We strive to do anything we can to keep the Care Center residents happy and healthy,” said DuPage County Health and Human Services Chairwoman Julie Renehan.

Balloon donations will be accepted until Feb. 11, and may be sent to: DuPage Care Center, Attn: Valentine Balloons, 400 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187. Balloons can also be sent by visiting https://dpccfoundation.org. Balloons will be delivered on Feb. 14.

Funds from the sale of balloons will benefit the Resident Recreation Fund, which provides programs and activities to improve the quality of life of residents living at the Center.
