WorkNet DuPage is inviting members of the public to #ComeOnIn to view its recently renovated career center at 2525 Cabot Drive, Lisle.
The newly renovated public space delivers a fresh new look and welcoming atmosphere for job seekers. Clients can take advantage of a new computer lab with state-of-the-art technology, additional workshop rooms, and updated conference settings. Also added are private office spaces available for residents to conduct virtual, phone, or in-person job interviews in a quiet, professional setting with reliable high-speed internet.
“These renovations showcase the workNet DuPage Career Center as DuPage County’s premier employment and career services resource,” said DuPage County Economic Development Committee Chairwoman Amy Chavez. “Our new space was designed with clients in mind, as were our new and expanded program offerings. We want job seekers to know workNet professionals can assist them with each step of their search.”
WorkNet invites job seekers to make the center their temporary office space at no cost. The center’s facilities include workstations with easy access to resources such as resume templates, job boards, career exploration tools, subscription-only company research databases, and printers. Assistive devices and technology for job seekers with disabilities are also available.
WorkNet’s DuPage Center was also recently designated a NorthStar testing location, where residents can #ComeOnIn and take online, self-guided, basic computer skill assessments to measure mastery of skills in 14 different areas, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Residents are also welcome to take free practice exams for credentials such as Project Management Professional, Commercial Driver's License, and Cisco Certified Network Associate.
WorkNet DuPage invites partner organizations to hold workshops at its center to create a one-stop destination for job seekers in DuPage County. New offerings available to the public at the Lisle-based location include:
- A job club led by the Career and Networking Center
- Financial fitness classes led by H.O.M.E. DuPage
- Digital literacy courses taught by People’s Resource Center
- Health Department information sessions
- Onsite recruitment meetings with employers
- Skill Up DuPage orientations
The public can #ComeOnIn and meet with recruiters, College of DuPage advisors, and a team of knowledgeable career development and job search professionals for access to resume assistance, funding for job training programs, and more.
