Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
The purpose of a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is to gather information about the extent and nature of homelessness to assist planners, policy makers and providers of services to the homeless to design the most effective policies and programs,
to coordinate care, and better serve clients.
Community Services works in collaboration with the DuPage County Continuum of Care (CoC), dupagehomeless.org. The CoC receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) who requires use of a HMIS and establishes baseline standards including but not limited to data quality, privacy and security.
