Flood Information and Services
I have flood damage to my home or business. What happens now?

Flooding is a common cause of water damage to homes and businesses. There are different types of water damage connected to flooding which may be considered eligible for assistance. Damage conditions may vary in size and scale-ability, from a single home with damages to large-scale community disaster. In the event of a large scale disaster, communities must conduct a survey of the damages. The results of this survey determine whether the community is able to apply for Federal assistance. If the community meets the requirements for Federal assistance, the assistance becomes available when a Presidential Disaster Declaration is confirmed for the area. Regardless of a confirmed Presidential Disaster Declaration services and resources are available.
