Environment and Sustainability Division Overview

The Environmental and Sustainability Division of DuPage County leads the County's waste, recycling, and green initiatives. The goal of the Environmental and Sustainability Division is to protect the public's health, well-being, natural resources, and safety by providing environmental initiatives, plans, and information. Information on recycling and disposal locations, recycling/green events, and other programs are listed here. The 2011 Environmental Progress Report lists the County's accomplishments, goals, and ongoing programs. 

DuPage County 2024 Environmental Progress Report

The Report summarizes projects completed over the last decade. County projects reduced 15.5 million pounds of CO2 equivalent and enough electricity to power more than 1,000 homes each year. Read the full report here.

2023 DuPage County Solid Waste & Recycling Annual Report

The 2023 DuPage Waste & Recycling Annual Report is generated as part of the County’s role to fulfill the requirements set forth in the {Illinois} Solid Waste Planning & Recycling Act (415 ILCS 15/). The Act tasks counties with planning for disposal capacity, the management of solid waste and reducing municipal solid waste generation. View the report here
