Seasonal Positions Now Open

Animal Care Seasonal Worker: DuPage County Animal Services is accepting applications for Animal Care Interns to assist the animal caretaking and veterinary staff. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of animal care, training, and enrichment alongside experienced staff in an open-admission animal control facility. The Animal Care Internship is the perfect opportunity for college students to gain experience in: shelter intake and adoption procedures, animal care, veterinary medicine, animal behavior and training, and so much more! Interns will gain valuable skills relevant to future careers in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, animal training, and animal husbandry for a variety of species of domestic animal. Office/Community Outreach Support: Do you always have to share fun animal facts with friends and family? Is your social media plastered with cute animal photos and video? DCAS is looking for an outgoing individual with a passion for all things animals. Interns will have the opportunity to promote the work of DCAS to our community while supporting shelter operations in the office. Interns will assist office staff with daily operations including processing applications and adoptions, adoption counseling, and responding to general public inquiries. At community events, interns will lead games and activities for visitors of all ages and answer questions about DCAS and our adoptable animals. The Office/Community Outreach Support Internship is the perfect opportunity for college students to gain experience in: communications, animal handling, nonprofit marketing, and shelter operations.
